You can save two lives rather than one. In kitten season, kittens are
over-running the kill and no-kill shelters in the area, making it impossible
to place all the kittens in a forever home.
A kitten left alone during the day will be very lonely and likely to get
into mischief. They need interaction with at least one other kitten their
age with the same playful interests to socialize properly.
A single kitten with an adult cat will torture the older cat unmercifully,
trying to get it to play like a kitten needs. The adult cat may become
cranky and develop a real dislike for the kitten. Similarly, the kitten
won't get what it needs from the adult cat.
Two kittens burn off all the crazy, wild energy that kittens have - on
each other rather than on your curtains, counters and chandeliers. They wear
themselves out, becoming sweet, docile kittens ready for cuddling.
Two kittens will teach each other what they know. They can learn by
example how to cover things up in the litter box, or how to groom oneself
properly, freeing you from demonstrating either.
Behavior problems decrease when your kitten has a kitten pal to romp with.
Mischief kittens get into is often caused by boredom, cured when they have a
playmate.
Having two kittens is more than twice the fun. Just think of all the
ring-side seats you get to wrestling matches and jumping competitions. And
that's not even mentioning all the laughter guaranteed while watching their
zany antics.
You've never seen anything so cute as your two kittens curled up together, snoozing or giving each other baths. That alone will do your heart good!
If you have two kids, they don't have to share one kitten. If you have
one child, you don't have to share the kitten. If you have no kids, the
kittens get to share you!
Two kittens guarantee that you will have two cats who like each other
when they are grown.
